Trees
1/16- Paradise CA
We made the move up to Paradise today dropping the car off and motoring up the hill. It’s a bit cooler up here and so we have our furnace on for the first time in a while. Saryn flew in today so we got relegated to our regular beds in the rv. We hung out and got caught up and then went for a short walk at a park at the edge of the canyon. The view here is visually stunning and the hillside is covered with some fresh blooming bay leave trees. Part of this park was spared from the fire but you can still see some of the burn scars across the canyon.
I feel it would be remiss of me not to mention that the city of Chico is known as the city of trees. There are a surplus of tree varieties here. There are live oaks, valley oaks, tulip trees, flowing amber trees, sycamores and tons more that I have no idea even existed. Of course right now most have no leaves and so it is not quite as spectacular. Spring is in the air even at this elevation there are trees budding up and flowers popping out of the ground. So what are the girls going to do tomorrow— go skiing on a volcano!!
