Cold

 3/16- Cumberland City,TN

We did a whole lot of nothing today. Temps were in the 30’s this morning so I slept in as long as my bladder would let me. We turned on all the heaters to try and make it comfortable in here. There were even snow flurries dancing past my window as I ate my breakfast.

The day didn’t get much better from there. We or rather Alayne ventured out into the arctic wasteland to do some laundry. Other than that we stayed huddled around the heater. I might have tried to take a walk but the only place was alongside the road and it didn’t really go anywhere.

We did near the end of the day trek up to the restaurant on site and had a nice and very inexpensive dinner. The sun had picked this time to make an appearance so we were able to navigate the frosty tundra without a problem.

It turns out that there actually was a tornado that touched down last night. It was further south in Tennessee and it tore up a path through a small town. It was great that the campground folks here were willing to come back and have the building open just in case. I think they stayed until it looked like the front had gone through which was around midnight.

Tomorrow will be cold also before a warm up on Wednesday. It should warm a bit before another cold night. Next we head up to Mammoth Caves for a couple of days.
